Missing person Roy Olson  white camper van similar to what Olson drives

The Nanaimo RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 79-year-old Roy Olson who has not been heard from since Monday July 25, 2022. Olson left Nanaimo driving his white Dodge camper van with BC plate MN743L. He told his family before leaving that he was going to travel to Campbell River, Gold River, and then make his way to Port Hardy. His family said that he normally goes for 4 -5 days and that he has never been gone this long. As a result, they are extremely worried for his safety and well-being.

Olson has no cell phone and is travelling with his tan and black colored dog Rhodesian Ridgeback dog. He likes to hike along trails with his dog and if possible, he avoids crowds and campgrounds. The picture provided of the van is similar to what he is driving and the picture of him is relatively recent.

If you have information on the whereabouts of Roy Olson, please call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, and quote file # 2022-26644.
