Prince George RCMP attend fatal motor vehicle incident

On Tuesday, July 27, 2022, shortly after 6:00 p.m., Prince George RCMP Frontline police officers attended Highway 16 West near Haldi Lake Road for a report of a collision between a pick-up truck and a motorcycle.

Frontline police officers were joined by a Collision Analyst from the Collision and Reconstruction Service. Highway 16 West was closed eastbound and westbound traffic was diverted down Haldi Lake Road for approximately four hours while police officers gathered information and spoke with witnesses.

Sadly, the driver of the motorcycle did not survive his injuries. Our thoughts are with the family members and friends of the victim in their time of mourning. Our RCMP Victim Services Unit is working closely with those affected by this event, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The driver of the pick-up truck was not seriously injured in the incident; he remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with the investigation. If anyone witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage, and did not already speak with police, they can call the non-emergency line at 250-561-3300 to speak with an investigator.
