Power pole struck by vehicle

On June 21, 2023 Stl’Atl’lmx Tribal Police advised Lillooet RCMP, a Facebook user in Lillooet had posted they had seen a large commercial crane truck strike a power pole on Main st. Lillooet RCMP attended to the area. The driver who hit the pole was determined and spoken to. The driver apologized and accepted full responsibility, he was cautioned he could be charged with leaving the scene of a collision. BC Hydro were to replace the pole. The matter was referred to ICBC.

Assault via egg throwing

On June 22, 2023 a woman reported a young girl driving by in a vehicle threw an egg that hit her in the leg. The woman also observed there to be more egg on her fence, garage door, and truck. The woman knew the identity of the young girl and wished for her to clean up the egg mess. Lillooet RCMP spoke with the young girl and her mother, the young girl admitted to throwing the egg, understood it constituted assault, agreed to clean up the mess.

Woman with a pellet gun

On June 24, 2023 Lillooet RCMP received a report of a woman wandering the street with what appeared to look like a gun, unknown if it was real or fake. Lillooet RCMP attended and observed the woman with a pellet gun, she was ordered to drop it, she immediately stated It’s not real. The pellet gun was forfeited to police for destruction by the owner. There were no further concerns to the public.

Impaired operation

On June 25, 2023 Lillooet RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver; a man exited a blue Dodge caravan appearing intoxicated and entered Lightfoot gas station (1117 Hwy 99S). Lillooet RCMP attended and located the vehicle being operated, a traffic stop was conducted, a breath demand was given to the driver, the driver blew 2 Fail’s on the approved screening devices and was subsequently prohibited from driving for 90 days. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days. The matter was referred to ICBC.

Intoxicated in public

On June 25, 2023 Lillooet RCMP received a report of an unconscious male near Main st. Lillooet RCMP attended and located two people sleeping with empty liquor cans near by. Both persons got up and walked to a residence where they were welcomed in for the night.

Check well being

2023-1297
On June 27, 2023 Lillooet RCMP received a report from a counsellor that a client messaged him on Facebook, advising him that he was on his way to the Old Bridge because of something he had done. The counselor requested police locate and assess his clients well being. Lillooet RCMP responded and located the man walking on the bridge, he had no self harm intentions and had time to reflect on his past, he was offered a ride home to his family which he agreed to. There were no further concerns arising.

Father and son rescued

On June 29, 2023 a local campground owner reported a father and son had went exploring up the Larochelle FSR toward an old jade mine, they had not returned for over a day. Pemberton Search and Rescue located the father and son in the alpine of the mountains, the pair had got stuck in the snow exploring. The father and son were flown back to Lillooet and were thankful of all parties that assisted.

Break and enter

On July 1, 2023 a local resident reported his locked shed was broken into sometime over a 5 day period, several items such as a Husqvarna 375k model concrete cutter, and a Minkota trolling motor were stolen, valued at a total of $2150. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Lillooet RCMP, please reference Lillooet RCMP file 2023-1341.
