4 arrested and charged after shots fired at a residence

On August 2, 2023 at 6:18am, the Fort St John RCMP received a report of shots fired in the area of Triangle Park located on 112th Ave and 103rd Street in Fort St John.

4 people were observed arriving in what was later determined to be a stolen car, where they committed a break an enter to a residence and a shot was fired into the home.

The vehicle left and returned a short time later with 2 people again approaching the house.

Frontline police officers arrived on scene, interrupting the home invasion, locating the individuals from the vehicle. One person was found in possession of a spent shell casing and bear spray and another was found in possession of a collapsible baton.

All 4 people were arrested on scene and containment was set up around the residence.

With the assistance of RCMP Police Dog Services, 8 persons were safely removed from the home, all with no injuries.

A search warrant was executed on the car which yielded a loaded pistol. A search warrant was also executed on the residence resulting in additional firearms and ammunition being located and seized for investigation.

Charges have been approved against Bradley Johnson for Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle, Break and Enter with intent, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000. Johnson has been remanded into custody with his next court appearance scheduled for August 21, 2023.

Charges have been approved against Dallas Garbitt for Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle, Break and Enter with intent, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000. Garbitt has been remanded into custody with his next court appearance scheduled for August 15, 2023.

Charges have been approved against Clinton Marks for Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle, Break and Enter with intent, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000. Marks has been remanded into custody with his next court appearance scheduled for August 9, 2023.

Charges have been approved against Amanda Gehring for Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle, Break and Enter with intent, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000. Gehring has been remanded into custody with his next court appearance scheduled for August 10, 2023.

This is an great example of how a timely report by the public combined with a quick response by the Fort St John RMCP led to the arrest of 4 individuals and the seizure of a 3D printed hand gun, said Constable Chad Neustaeter, Media Relations Officer for the Fort St John RCMP.
