Meet Jon Stuart, recently hired on as the new Community Policing Coordinator for the city of Nanaimo. Jon takes over from Christy Wood who has moved onto another position with the city. Jon is just beginning to settle in to his new position after retiring from the RCMP at the end of June with 26 years of service. He is though up for this task as he and his family have lived and worked in Nanaimo for many years and he has a good handle on the challenges Nanaimo faces and the direction it's going.

Known as a people person, Jon's first task was to reach out to as and meet many of the fine Community Policing volunteers as possible. He commented after one such meet that he was thoroughly impressed with their collective enthusiasm and dedication to the community based programs they are responsible for carrying out.
